Clinical services

The vision of IIID is to use the power of science to transform clinical care, reduce the burden of disease, and bring hope to patients. Powerful new scientific insights and tools are available and we are focussing on using these to improve the care of the highest needs patients with serious or chronic disease.

At present we treat patients with autoimmune diseases such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and chronic infectious diseases such as HIV. In the future we hope to welcome a broader range of patients including those with:

• Multiple Sclerosis
• Hepatitis C
• Drug Hypersensitivity
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Severe immune mediated skin conditions
• Inflammatory Bowel Disease

We are part of a strong collaborative clinical research network across Western Australia involving all the major teaching hospitals and Universities as well as private clinics and also have numerous international collaborations. This has led to strong research programs in most of the diseases shown above. Any improvements in care that we implemented to date have rapidly been introduced in other clinical settings in Western Australia and elsewhere.
